Teen Mom celeb Amber Portwood was evicted from her Indiana home after lying to the government about her income.
Portwood was living in a subsidized home under Indiana's Low Income Rental Housing Tax Program. In an effort to qualify for the program, Portwood totalled her annual income to be $10,000. In actuality, records show that the MTV star's income was much greater than she was letting on. For the year 2010, Portwood raked in $280,000.
Upon this discovery, Portwood became ineligible for her housing and was evicted from the home in Anderson, Indiana.
The high income does raise some questions: where is Portwood getting all that money? A majority of the money came from filming Teen Mom episodes, which portrays her convoluted life with daughter Leah and former partner Gary Shirley. She was also paid to do interviews and make public appearances.
Earlier this month, Portwood was facing up to five years of jail time for probation violations and drug-related charges. She sought to avoid serving time with a plea deal. Under the deal, Portwood is currently enrolled in a drug rehabilitation program. Upon completion of the program, Portwood's recent charges will be expunged from her record.
While she sorts through her legal woes, Portwood's 2-year-old daughter Leah is under the watch of Shirley, Leah's father.
