Terminator Salvation, a Box Office Success
The Warner Bros. film, Terminator Salvation, the fourth movie of the series, brought in a successful $13.3 million on opening night on Thursday, according to UPI.com.
This number places the action film, which stars Christian Bale and Sam Worthington, in the running to earn more than $70 million during the Memorial Day weekend, reported EW.com.
According to UPI.com, the box office totals include more than $3 million during the midnight viewing on Wednesday.
Over the four-day weekend, Terminator Salvation will battle the box-office successful family comedy, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, which opens on Friday and is expected to bring in close to $50 million.
Paramount's spoof, Dance Flick, starring the Wayans brothers is also expected to earn in the teen millions, according to THR.com.
Terminator Salvation will open in foreign theaters in two weeks. The film's international distribution rights belong to Sony Pictures, according to UPI.com.
