Texas v Missouri

Texas freshman D. J. Monroe has been charged with a DWI after being arrested Saturday night while driving on a Texas highway.

The Longhorns' running back was stopped on Interstate 95 and was taken into custody. According to a statement to the AP, Lt. Leroy Opiela of the Hays County Sheriff's office confirmed the arrest and said that Monroe was released Sunday morning after posting bail. Opiela did not provide any more details of the arrest.

Monroe has appeared in all the Longhorns' games this year, primarily as a kick returner. He has returned two kickoffs for touchdowns this year. Monroe has also carried the ball 20 times, with 110 yards.

Monroe was a member of the Longhorns' 16th ranked recruiting class in 2008. The four star recruit was ranked the 21st best cornerback in the country, before making a position change once joining the Longhorns.

Head Coach Mack Brown has refused to comment but is aware of the incident, according to a university spokesperson.
