Text Message From Brown's Manager Allegedly Started Fight

Reports are saying that Chris Brown's manager, Tina Davis, sent the text message that started the fight between him and Rihanna.

Celebrity gossip site TMZ.com is reporting that a text message from R&B star Chris Brown's manager Tina Davis is what initiated a melee between Brown and his girlfriend Rihanna.

A source for TMZ identified Davis, 39, as the person who sent Brown a text message Feb. 8, the night prior to the Grammy Awards.

Rumors had circulated romantically linking the two and the police report stated that the text message came "from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with."

A spokeswoman with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office told MTV News, "Brown has not been arraigned yet, so we will not be commenting on the matter."

TMZ reported last month that a text message was the spark of the alleged brawl. Some media outlets reported that singer Keshia Shante had sent the message. However, her manager denies this claim.

New information surfaced last week as police documents were made public. According to a police statement, Rihanna told officers she found a three-page text message on Brown's phone from a woman he was involved with in the past, who is believed to be Davis. Brown allegedly became angry with Rihanna after she found the message. After allegedly trying to kick her out of his car and pushing her face against the window, he then purportedly began punching and biting her.

Brown did not enter a plea when he appeared in court. He is scheduled to return to court April 6 for arraignment on two charges of felony assault and making threats.
