Them Crooked Vultures and some new material
Dave Grohl, of Nirvana and later Foo Fighters fame (everyone forgets he was in Nirvana, it's crazy) has stated on BBC 6 Music that his new side project will most likely continue to produce material and tour. He said that if the band continues they could make as many albums as was possible. He said that the Foo Fighters are still his band, and they won't be going away anytime soon.
When I first heard of this supergroup, I was very skeptical as to whether or not they could put the ego aside. Come on, it's Led Zeppelin, how could one not develop an ego problem?
Well, the idea for the band started at Grohl's 40th birthday party, medieval themed of course, and they went from there with little to no fanfare. They steadily grew as more and more people were caught at the warm up act for the show they were actually there for saying, "Hey, is that Dave Grohl?"
It's unarguable that TCV received their publicity because they are one of those new little crapshoots of "SuperGroups" (Dun da da da!). But these guys are not in it for the money. Ok, well they like money, but they like each other too. That kind of chemistry can be seen by the fans and sometimes can really propel the band upwards. I mean, who would sit with Dave Grohl at a medieval-themed birthday party, make a band, and not get along?
That is why they have the potential to become a real big rock band of note, they put their egos aside and focus on the music. It can be so cliche to say that, but I would bet on it, since they hung out before the band was made. They're something to keep on one's radar in the coming future, I would definitely recommend them to everyone who ever loved rock n' roll.
