Third Season Drama for "The Real Housewives of New York"
Bravo announced that "The Real Housewives of New York" will be returning for a third season and that it is casting new housewives. The casting news comes amid a reported salary dispute.
A "network insider" told the New York Daily News that "the Housewives want six-figure deals." They reportedly want a "clothing allowance, money for hair and make-up, a set raise and a promised amount of screen time."
Does this new casting mean that current "housewives" will be leaving the show or that their Bravo family will be getting bigger?
Nothing is 100 percent clear, but according to both E! Online and the Daily News, what is certain is that "bad guy" Kelly Bensimon will be returning. She was in fact the first housewife to sign back onto the show, sources reported.
Alex McCord and Bethenny Frankel also seem to be back on board for the third season. According to the Daily News, McCord said, "We're in discussions for next season. Let's put it this way: We're headed to Australia to promote the show. And we wouldn't be doing that if we weren't ready for next season."
As for Frankel, her rep said she "loves being a part of the Bravo family, and if invited back, she will 100 percent RSVP for 'The Real Housewives' party."
That leaves question marks about LuAnn de Lesseps, Jill Zarin and Ramona SingerZarin and Singer reportedly being the two "playing hardball," according to E! Online.
The reality series is set to return in 2010.
