Thousands of Spectators Enjoy the Rose Parade in Pasadena, Calif.
This year's movie theme was "Hat's Off to Entertainment." FoxNews.com reported that the recession didn't keep the crowds away as they enjoyed the California sunshine. In the early morning, temperatures were a chilly 50 degrees but heated up to 70 degrees during the parade.
This year's grand marshal was 82-year-old Academy Award winning actress and recent Dancing with the Stars contestant, Cloris Leachman. The parade featured 46 flower-covered floats, 21 marching bands, and 18 equestrian units along the 5?-mile route. Also, a special appearance of the Air Force's B-2 Spirit stealth bomber flew over the crowd an hour into the parade, to pay tribute to the U.S. military stationed around the world.
Police arrested 36 people along the parade route, mostly for public intoxication, including a man that was arrested for throwing a beer bottle into the crowd.
