Three Charged In Connection With Anna Nicole's Death
According to the Los Angeles Times, Howard K. Stern, Dr. Sandeep Kapoor and Dr. Khristine Eroshevich have been charged with supplying Anna Nicole Smith with prescription drugs before her 2007 overdose death.
Prosecutors say that the three supplied Smith with multiple addictive drugs under various aliases. The prosecution team laid out a list of 95 "overt acts" where this type of activity went on. Some of the prescription drugs which prosecutors say were prescribed illegally were Ambien, Hydromorphone, Clonazepam, Methadone and Xanax.
California Attorney General Jerry Brown said of possible motives, "There's a certain psychic gain here, part of the glitz the celebrity and the power. There's a lot of money floating around."
According to the Associated Press, Stern and Kapoor surrendered to police and were released on Thursday. Eroshevich plans to surrender on Monday. Her lawyer claims that she wrote the prescriptions to the aliases in order to protect Smith's privacy.
