Golfer Tiger Woods’ ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, has reportedly demolished her recently-purchased $12 million mansion in Florida just so that she can build another at the exact same location.
According to TMZ, Nordegren bought the mansion in March, just after she received a $100 million settlement from the couple’s divorce. The North Palm Beach home had been located just ten miles from a home that Woods had purchased.
TMZ reported Thursday that Nordegren just decided to demolish the entire mansion, which had six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, simply because it was not up to her high standards. The 9,000 square-foot mansion also had a 4,000 square-foot basement.
Sources told the site that the former Swedish model selected a high-priced architect to build a dream house at the exact same location, but exact details cannot be revealed because the construction crew was required to sign a confidentiality agreement.
The New York Post reports that there was no word on how long it would take the new mansion to be built. In the interim, Nordegren will take residence in another nearby mansion in the same private community.
Nordegren and Woods divorced in 2010 after she found out that he had numerous affairs during their five-year marriage, according to The Daily Mail. In July, she began dating billionaire Jamie Dingman. She and Woods had two children together.
