Tiger Woods Talks about his Life and Family
Tiger Woods, a star athlete known for his amazing golf skills and ability to win many of his tournaments, is known as something else nowadaysand that is dad. Woods is the father to 2- year-old daughter Sam and 5-month-old son Charlie Axel.
Woods told People magazine that a knee injury prevented him from being active much. During his break from golf, he spent his time bonding with his daughter Sam, who was one at the time.
Woods explains that, "We're different than other sports in the fact that we don't spend half our season at home. We're always on the road," he said. "I got a chance to be around her all the time, so that was a huge bonus."
Woods recalls his time off from golf a "happy time." His wife was expecting their son and his daughter was going through the cute toddler phase, he said. Besides spending time with his wife and children, he also spent time with his other family and friends.
"I would have missed a lot," said Woods.
There was only one downside to all the time spent with his children and familyhis father was missing. Woods father passed away a few years ago from Cancer.
"I think of him every day," says Woods simply. "He taught me everything," including golf.
Woods grew up in Southern California and during much of his childhood his dad taught him how the game of golf worked. As a toddler, his dad would put his high chair in the garage and Wood's would watch his swing.
Woods, much like his father, wants his kids to do what they want to do. Woods plans on encouraging them to pursue their passions.
"Whatever they want to do is fine with me," he says.
