Tigger and Piglet Join Winnie the Pooh in Heaven
Two of Winnie the Pooh's best friends will never bounce and oink again. The men behind the voices of Tigger and Piglet, Paul Winchell, 82, and John Fiedler, 80, passed away on Friday and Saturday. Winchell's debut as the voice of Tigger came in a short 1968 film titled "Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day." But Tigger isn't the only character Winchell brought to life. The actor also lent his voice to "The Jetsons," "Spider Man," and "Fred Flinstone and Friends." His counterpart Fielder began his acting career on the stages of New York but he became popular as the voice of Piglet. According to The Times, as soon as the late Walt Disney heard Fielder's voice he knew that was it. "That's Piglet," he said. On top of displaying his talent in "Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day," Fielder voiced the character up until the most recent release of "Pooh's Heffalump Movie." Although the actors and their voices will be greatly missed, Tigger and Piglet will be joining the late Sterling Holloway, the original voice of Winnie the Pooh himself, who died in 1992.
