Tim Burton To Direct Addams Family Film?
There isn’t any stopping Tim Burton. After the wacky director made hundreds of millions of dollars on Alice in Wonderland, he’s set to go back in on the weird.
According to a U.K. Report, Tim Burton plans to start work on an animated 3-D Addams Family film.
Deadline Hollywood reported Illumination Entertainment got the rights for Charles Addams’ original artwork and Tim Burton will use that as inspiration for a 3-D, stop motion film.
Deadline also reported that Burton intends to strictly go by the original artwork as his premise, ignoring some of the more recent interpretations of the Addams Family. Whether or not this is popular with the public remains to be seen.
Burton’s representatives shot done the certainty in the plans, according to an exclusive given to MTV News. “There is no truth to the story. Tim has not lined up any of his upcoming projects.”
Burton has a strong track record with darker themed films such as Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride and Sweeney Todd.
Alice in Wonderland recently received rave reviews after making nearly $450 million worldwide in the box office in it's first two weeks.
