The election is over and so is Tina Fey's dead-on impersonation of the former Republican vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, on Saturday Night Live.
"I have to retire just because I have to do my day job," Fey told Entertainment Weekly, referring to her Emmy winning NBC sitcom, 30 Rock, for and in which she created, writes, and stars.
There's no doubt Fey's take on Palin made SNL the go-to show for election-related comedy. The show is up 70 percent in viewership and Fey as Palin was one of the many highlights this season.
While Fey commits herself to 30 Rock, she does have an idea as to who could be the new Palin.
"I think [Kristen] Wiig would do a really good job," she said, adding that she could ceremoniously "give Wiig the Palin wig."
