Title Revealed for New Bond Film

Actor Daniel Craig Says Title is Related to Plot

E! News reports that the title for the latest Bond film has been confirmed by the movie's producers as "Quantum of Solace." The name was taken from a short story in a collection called "For Your Eyes Only," written by Bond creator Ian Fleming and published in 1960.

The "Quantum of Solace" title and a few plot details for the movie were revealed at a press conference on Thursday at Pinewood Studios in England. "Quantum of Solace" marks the second time actor Daniel Craig will play James Bond following 2006's "Casino Royale." At Thursday's press conference, Craig recognized his new film's title "doesn't trip off the tongue. But why should it?" He later pointed out, "It ties into the plot...It's not some random title."

Co-producer Michael Wilson said, however, that the movie's plot is not based on the short story of the same name, in which Bond has a background role and attends a dinner party at Nassau. Instead, the movie will be like a sequel to "Casino Royale" and have Bond still dealing with the apparent death of his love Vesper Lynd (Eva Green). Craig promises, though, that Bond will also be "misbehaving more this time."
