TNT Green-Lights Romano's "Men" Series
TNT is adding yet another hour-long series to its ambitious original programming schedule with the Ray Romano-produced series, Men of a Certain Age.
According to Variety.com, "Series stars Romano, alongside Andre Braugher and Scott Bakula, and is focused on three forty-something college buddies who are each experiencing their own kind of mid-life crises."
Another Everybody Loves Raymond alum, Mike Royce, will act as showrunner as well as executive produce with Romano, Rory Rosegarten and Cary Hoffman.
Men of a Certain Age has been picked up for 10 episodes which are scheduled to premiere later this year.
According to HollywoodReporter.com, "The order for 'Men' comes on the heels of two similar 10-episode pickups by TNT last week -- the Jada Pinkett Smith-starring medical drama, 'Time Heals,' and the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced cop drama, 'The Line,' toplined by Dylan McDermott."
Viewers will just have to wait and see if TNT's slogan, "We Know Drama," holds up. They have so far, with the success of the Kyra Sedgwick series, The Closer, and the Timothy Hutton drama, Leverage. Now, the question is: Can TNT continue their path of victory or will too many new original programs cause them to crash and burn? We will just have to be patient and watch what happens.
