Today Show Host Natalie Morales Gives Birth

Co-anchor Meredith Viera makes the announcement on air.

People Magazine reported that NBC News reporter Natalie Morales gave birth to her second child this week. Morales, who is 36, also has a 4-year-old son named Josh with husband Joe Rhodes, an investment consultant.

MSNBC reported that the news of baby Luke was revealed by Morales's Today show co-host Meredith Vieira, who said, "We have some great news to report. Our family here at Today just got a little bit bigger because Natalie gave birth yesterday to a baby boy."

According to MSNBC, a photograph of the newborn and his mother appeared on a monitor during the taping of Morales's morning show, and the whole cast "erupted into a chorus of 'awwwws.'"

According to her MSNBC profile, Morales joined the Today show as a national correspondent in February 2006. She was named co-anchor in September 2007. People Magazine noted that Morales's last major television appearance was an interview from prison with the man known as Clark Rockefeller, an identity shifter who is charged with kidnapping his own daughter.
