Tom Cruise Does the 'Impossible'…..Again

It has recently been confirmed that Paramount Pictures is in the process of developing Mission: Impossible IV. The film which is slated to have a 2011 release date will feature Tom Cruise reprising his role as Ethan Hunt.

Though J.J. Abrams, fresh off his success with Star Trek, will not return to direct the fourth film of the series, he will produce it along with Cruise.

Tom Cruise has spent relatively little time in the spotlight recently, so this next action-packed installment will tell whether he can still make an impact on the box office. Mission: Impossible III was released in 2006 to mediocre reviews and an overall gross that basically matched its budget.

Cruise has played a variety of characters recently in Lions for Lambs, Valkyrie, and Tropic Thunder, so we’ll just have to wait and see if he still has what it takes to be the spy who saves the day.
