Tom Cruise is reportedly close to inking a deal with Warner Bros. to star in the Doug Liman-directed All You Need is Kill.

Cruise is said to have been in negotiations to star in Kill for quite some time now, and will be juggling the role with shooting another film Oblivion with Jessica Chastain.

Deadline reports that Cruise will next be seen in Mission Impossible, then Rock of Ages, and Oblivion is likely to follow with All You Need is Kill to come after.

While he’s touring to promote Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Cruise is currently shooting One Shot, directed by Christopher McQuarrie.

All You Need is Kill is a Japanese novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka that was rewritten by Joby Harold.

Variety reports that the film is similar to Groundhog Day but with a twist. The film has been in development for months, with the lead role originally fit for a younger actor. It was reworked to fit in someone more age appropriate for Cruise to interpret.

Rock of Ages is set to hit theaters next summer, while Ghost Protocol will get a December 16 release.

Cruise hasn’t signed the deal to star in Kill in any official capacity, but is said to be close.
