Tom Sizemore has been arrested yet again, but this time he was caught in the middle of a police investigation that was unrelated to him.
The troubled actor was arrested early Tuesday morning in downtown Los Angeles after his apartment was searched. Police uncovered that he had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest for misdemeanor battery, a charge stemming from his 2009 altercation with his then-girlfriend.
It turns out, while the Los Angeles Police Department and Sizemore’s rep have two different stories to tell about what happened this morning, they both agree that the investigation was really pointed toward Sizemore’s assistant – who lives with the actor.
"Tom had an assistant living with him," Sizmore’s rep, Charles Lago, told E! News. "The assistant was arrested last night for stealing a car. Police went to the apartment at 1 in the morning. The police asked if the assistant lived there and Tom said, 'Not really, he stays here.'"
“Tom Sizemore was arrested for an outstanding battery warrant," a spokesperson for the LAPD then explained. "What the judge issued it for, whether it was not finishing community service or something else, we don't know. That's something between you and the courts...All we did was run him into the system, he was active in the system, and we arrested him for the warrant.”
CNN reports that Sizemore was released on $26,000 bail. He’s due in court October 14.
