Toni Braxton Had Tumor Removed
Toni Braxton tells the new issue of Us Weekly that she had a tumor removed from her breast in November, reports the Associated Press.
The 41-year-old singer was absent from last month's finale of Dancing with the Stars in which she appeared as a contestant earlier in the season. She had the tumor removed one week before the finale of the show.
Braxton admits that she knew about her tumor before she went on Dancing with the Stars. Once she was eliminated, she scheduled her surgery for Oct. 20.
She tells the mag, "Getting the boot on the show was actually a blessing in disguise for me."
Breast cancer runs in her family also, so she had reason to take all the necessary steps to remove the tumor.
"My grandmother on my dad's side died of breast cancer, and I have aunts on both sides that have breast cancer," she said.
The mother of two will strap on her dancing shoes once again, though. She will appear on the Dancing with the Stars tour, which starts in San Diego on Dec. 17.
