Tony Romo Proposes to Girlfriend Candace Crawford on Her 24th Birthday

Tony Romo, 30, and Candace Crawford, 24, are engaged.

Romo proposed on the pageant queen and KDAF-TV anchor’s 24th birthday at Five Sixty restaurant in Dallas Thursday, while the couple were celebrating the bride-to-be’s birthday with her family, People reports.

The Dallas Cowboys quarterback ended his relationship with Jessica Simpson just before getting involved with Gossip Girl star Chase Crawford’s sister, who is 2008's Miss Missouri.

Simpson told David Letterman earlier this year that all is still cordial between her and Romo. "Tony is great – still a friend of mine," she said. "I still look at his cute butt in the outfit – uniform."

Simpson’s other ex, Nick Lachey, announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo just one week before she announced her own engagement to former NFL player Eric Johnson.
