Tony Yayo Pleads Not Guilty

Rapper claims innocence in assault of 14-year-old boy.

Rapper Tony Yayo has pled not guilty to the charge of assaulting a 14-year-old boy. Yayo, whose real name is Marvin Bernard, entered a plea of "not guilty" in criminal court. Yayo was arraigned in a Manhattan court on Sunday. The 28-year-old rapper has been charged by police with punching and slapping a teenaged boy.

Yayo was released on $5,000 bail, Sunday, after entering his plea. He has been charged with harassment and the endangerment of a child's welfare. The authorities are saying that the rapper "pushed and slapped" the 14-year-old, which is reported to have caused pain to the boy's ear and face.

Mr. Bernard's legal defense attorney, Scott Leemon, stated, after the rapper walked out of court, that "we adamantly deny the allegations set forth by the people today."

In addition to Tony Yayo, G-Unit is comprised of 50 Cent, Young Buck, and Lloyd Banks.
