Tired of reading the dreary news involving disgraced actor Mel Gibson? How about some laughs instead?
In the wake of Mel Gibson’s past few weeks, the Oscar-winning actor/director has become the butt of an assortment of jokes. Therefore, ABC News saw it fit to create a roundup of the many mockeries, selecting their picks for the top five of “the most hilarious mockeries of Mad Mel.”
1. The Mel Gibson, a bipolar cocktail: New York City's famed Oak Bar at the Plaza hotel debuted this drink last week, a twist on the classic Gibson cocktail that will indeed make you crazy if you throw back more than one. Shake it up and stay far away from the phone:
1 oz Van Gogh (famously bipolar) Vodka
1 oz. Bols V.O. Genever Gin (it is a Gibson, after all, even if a little psychotic)
3/4 oz. vermouth
3 oz. club soda
Splash of cocktail onion juice
2. The butt of the late night jokes: David Letterman cut into the actor last week, basing a top 10 list around Gibson's potential excuses for the crazy calls. The highlights: "No. 9: Driven insane by World Cup vuvuzelas," "No. 2: Thought she was one of them Russian spies," and "No. 1: Wanted to show the Jews I'm an equal opportunity offender."
3. The many hilarious mashups: With just a little splicing, Gibson's rants get even more absurd. A host of mashups of his audio recordings live on YouTube, including videos in which Betty White and Miss Piggy are the target of his insults, and a "who can sound crazier" battle between him and Christian Bale, who infamously railed on a crew member on the set of Terminator Salvation in 2008.
