The newest Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy film, Tower Heist, brought in $8.2 million in its opening day.

The film, which was initially predicted to do poorly, is believed to be on track to finish its opening weekend at $25 million The HD Room reported. The number is disappointing for producers.

According to Todays TV, the film is a half decent comedy. The site's film reviewer gave the comedy a 5 out 10 and suggested that filmmakers should have geared the film toward the family rather than the comedy genre.

The film did better than the Shrek spin-off Puss in Boots. The film opened at $7.2 million despite the popularity of the films.

The film, which has an all-star cast of Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Matthew Broderick, and Casey Affleck, follows the men as they plan to rob the condo of a wealthy investment banker.
