Travolta Misses 'Pelham 1 2 3' Premiere
John Travolta continued to keep himself out of the eye of the public and missed the premiere of his new movie, "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3" Thursday night in Los Angeles.
Travolta lost his 16-year-old son, Jett, to a seizure while the family was vacationing in the Bahamas in January. As his family continues to mourn the death, Travolta has made it a point to stay away from the limelight. Denzel Washington, who co-stars with Travolta in the new film, understood the need for privacy during the healing process.
"Well, you know, this is a movie, this is entertainment," Washington told Access Hollywood.
When asked if attending the premiere of "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3" was bittersweet without Travolta, Washington said, "He's where he needs to be."
Washington understood that this is a hard time for the Travolta family and supported Travolta's need to keep his distance.
"The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3" hits theaters this Friday.
