Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski revealed the futuristic franchise is turning into a trilogy, since a story for a third Tron movie is currently being fine-tuned.
With Tron: Legacy earning a worldwide profit of nearly $400 million, Disney has decided to continue the story of Sam Flynn, according to TotalFilm.com.
As for the storyline, Kosinski told AssignmentX.com, "I think we will pick with where Tron: Legacy left off with Quorra [Olivia Wilde] in the real world and what does that mean and the possibilities it opens up for the next chapter. It’s that relationship between the two of them that’s the next step."
It is currently unknown as to whether or not Kosinski will be the one who’s going to direct the project. It all comes down to what project will be falling into his lap first.
