True Blood star Denis O’Hare, who plays vampire king Russell Edgington on the hit HBO show, married his longtime boyfriend in New York City on Thursday.
O’Hare took to his Twitter account to tell fans that he tied the knot with interior designer Hugo Redwood.
Access Hollywood reports that the actor tweeted, “Okay. It happened. Hugo and I just got married.”
According to TooFab, just four days after same-sex marriage was officially licensed in New York on July 24, O’Hare tweeted a picture of him and Redwood at a courthouse as a married couple.
New York is the sixth state to allow same-sex couples to marry. In June, governor Andrew Cuomo signed the Marriage Equality Act.
True Blood fans saw O’Hare’s evil character in concrete and chained in silver at the end of last season. It’s unclear as to whether his character will return to the show.
