The hit series is likely to rake in big cash for the network.

Based on its ratings, HBO's vampire-filled "True Blood," which is still a fresh show, is bleeding green. Luckily, the network will receive most of the money the show earns.

According to Los Angeles Times, the series has become the biggest hit since "The Sopranos." Its DVD sales for the first season totaled to almost 725,000 units within the first two weeks. Its popularity on iTunes, which allows fans to download episodes of the show, will also earn the network big money, since it owns and produces the series.

The second season premiere, which aired on Sunday, earned 3.7 million viewers, reports Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello. Therefore, ratings climbed over 157 percent more than the series premiere and 51 percent more than November's season finale of the first season.

S2S Magazine recapped the second season premiere while reporting that the episode continued where it left off, at the end of the previous season.
