Tupac Shakur's Live 2 Tell Picked Up

A screenplay written by the rapper before his death will become a feature film

Afeni Shakur, mother of late rapper Tupac Shakur, is producing a film written by her son, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The script for "Live 2 Tell" has been picked up by Insomnia Media Group and was written by Tupac in 1995, the year before his death. It is about an inner-city black youth who becomes a drug kingpin and later renounces crime.

The film, not yet cast, was originally written for Tupac to play the lead role. It is slated to begin production in March. His film credits include "Poetic Justice," "Above the Rim," and "Gridlock'd."

Tupac was 25 when he was shot to death in Las Vegas in 1996; his murder remains unsolved.
