TV Wrap Up: Heroes
The third season of Heroes promised us a return to the simple days of season one where there were a few main characters and a relatively simple to follow story line. Unfortunately, it seems NBC is continuing the soap opera-esque style of plots from the dreadful second season.
There are about a dozen different stories going on at once, including time travel into an alternate and possible future. Also, in order to keep track of the events currently going on, one has to recall, in detail, specifics from the previous two seasons. When the stories do cross over, there is a melodramatic twist nearly every 20 minutes. With twist after twist, they begin to lose all meaning.
This week's episode continued on that track, with stories involving Sylar, Claire, Hiro, Suresh and plenty others. The only gleam of hope for the season was the return of the anti-aging villain, Adam, who adds levity along with his twisted views. Fans of the Hiro story line were surprised to find him "cut down" a close associate with almost no provocation. But don't worry, some twist will probably change these events.
Time travel. Why did it have to be time travel?
