Twain Splits from Husband of 14 Years

Country star Shania Twain and her husband-producer, Robert John "Mutt" Lange, broke off their marriage, reported People magazine today. The two married in 1993 and have one child, 6-year-old son Eja.

The Canadian crooner is known for her belly button which was one of the things that had entranced the secretive producer in the beginning when he saw one of her videos, according to Reuters. He called her persistently and finally they came to an agreement and began their professional career. Six months later they met face to face and became married in December of 1993.

Of Lange, there are few photos and he has never given any interviews. He is a very unlikely producer, very reclusive and he wasn't even a part of the couple's wedding photo when it was released to the press.

Three of Twain's albums were produced by her now ex-husband: The Woman in Me in 1995, Come on Over from 1997, and Up! from 2002.
