Twilight Star Nikki Reed Discusses Upcoming "New Moon"

In a recent interview with MTV, the "Twilight" star said the Cullen's will go through a slight makeover and the effects will be improved.

Twilight star Nikki Reed recently spoke to MTV about the changes fans of the saga can expect to see in the sequel, New Moon.

A bigger budget and different director will make the movie better. Reed, who plays Rosalie, said, from her conversations with director Chris Weitz, moviegoers can expect the Cullens to get a makeover and the special effects to be more advanced.

The direction will be different, she says, and because the film introduces Jacob Black as a werewolf, there will be a "heightened level of effects" to capture his transformation.

As for the Cullen clan? Reed said they are "perfecting" their look. She, for one, will not be dying her hair to play her part. Instead, they are experimenting with different wigs.

"I don't know if we necessarily got it right the first time around," she said, expressing that "every single character had a hard time" with the makeup that transformed them into vampires and that they didn't look very natural.

Reed went through a 36 hour "brutal process" to make her blonde. She wasn't the only one that had to change her look, she said, commenting on how Peter Facinelli had to dye his hair blonde from his natural black hair and naturally blonde Kellan Lutz has to become dark haired.

"We all had hours of hair and makeup in the morning, and then when we showed up on set, it was raining," she recalled about filming Twilight. The rain would cause their makeup to melt off their faces. "And because we're vampires, we can't shoot in the sun!"

Reed thinks the fans will notice the changes, especially with her wig, but wants them to know she is dedicated to her role. "My hair fell out," she said, as an example of her dedication.
