Twitter Users Cry Out Against Twitter TV Show
Less than 24 hours after the buzz of a possible Twitter reality TV show, the Daily News has reported that twitterers have already rioted against the idea. Headed by Ian Former, a twitterer who has risen to fame in a fortnight with his latest account, no_tweet_show, the campaign against the show amassed as many as 483 followers within the first hour, and is now up to over a thousand.
"Ok lets show um the power NO twitter show or we ALL go," tweets Former, a 39-year-old man from South Carolina. Fueled by reports that suggested the new Twitter TV show might involve celebrity stalking, Former began his campaign against it, worried that the show would encourage reckless behavior and lead to antagonizing celebrities on twitter who use the site as a means to communicate with their fans.
"Do I want my son going over to Miley Cyrus' house because she's posted she has her girlfriends over there?" Former, who has a 15-year-old son who uses Twitter, told the Daily News. "So many young people use Twitter and this is an impressionable group."
