Twlight to Expect Sequels
In the latest book-to-movie installment, fans eagerly await the debut of Twilight, the vampire-romance flick based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer. Due to the mass-acclaim and ravenous nature that this book has inspired in its readers, producer Summit Entertainment is already seeking the rights for the rest of the series for future films. Much in the way that "Harry Potter" charmed his way into seven books and their subsequent films, Twilight all but guarantees the same fate.
On a very primitive level, Twilight tells the love story of a teenage girl, Bella, who falls for a vampire, Edward, and the pains ensued. The country seems to be in a sort of vampire fever, marking the success of not only Meyer's book series, but the new television series, Trueblood, on HBO. Taking this into consideration, and according to the Hollywood Reporter, the production company has secured Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg to transform New Moon and Eclipse; the other titles in Meyer's collection. Robert Pattinson, cast as the lead undead love-interest, is rumored to also be on board for the sequels, but so far none of the principals have yet to commit to the fourth installment, Breaking Dawn.
Twilight opens in theaters on November 21.
