U2 Announces Album Release Date
Irish rockers U2 have announced the release date for their new album, LiveDaily reports.
No Line on the Horizon will be out on March 2, as per their Web site. The album is the follow-up to 2004's successful and critically acclaimed disc, How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, which sold 9 million copies worldwide.
Producers Brian Eno and Danny Lanois worked on the album, as well as Steve Lillywhite. Band members Bono, the Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen, Jr. spanned the globe in their recording sessions, laying down tracks in Morocco, New York City, London, and Dublin.
A music video is in progress for a first single; however, no information on what the song is has been given out. The band did work with producer extraordinare Rick Rubin during the album's creation, but all of that work has been shelved.
This new album will be U2's 12th studio effort. It will also be the first album released since the band signed with Live Nation.
Their 12-year agreement has the promotions powerhouse covering their Web site, touring, and merchandise. U2's partnership with Universal Music over their recordings and publishing will not be affected by the Live Nation deal.
