U2 brings Spider-Man to the Stage
Spider-Man is being made into a musical to come out in February 2010. The production will feature music by Bono and The Edge from the Irish band U2 according to BBC. It is going to be directed by Julie Taymor who was also a major contributor to the "Lion King" production.
The show will open at the Hilton Theatre in New York City. This venue is the only one large enough to accommodate the fantastic acrobats of Spidey as he spins around the set of skyscrapers.
'Spider-Man, Turn off the Dark' is going to cost $40 million, projected to be the most expensive Broadway show ever produced.
This is not the first production outside the music industry that Bono and The Edge have participated in. Bono also made an appearance in the 2007 film "Across the Universe." The Edge and Bono have corroborated for other films such as the 1995 James Bond film, "Golden Eye."
