U2 front man Bono was at the Toronto Film Festival yesterday, where he made a comment that he will be a proud American on the tenth anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
The Irish-born singer told the press that he will be “proud to be an American” on Sunday, according to The Associated Press.
“It's just too big a moment in all our lives. Even if you're not American, everyone became an American that day,” he added.
The Telegraph reports that Bono will be in New York City that day at a fashion event to promote a new men’s collection for the EDUN line.
EDUN was first launched in 2005 by Bono and his wife Ali Hewson as a not-for-profit business committed to raising awareness for business and trade opportunities in Africa.
Bono, along with band mate The Edge, were at the film festival to promote their documentary From The Sky Down, which chronicles the making of their 1991 record, Achtung Baby.
