WWW.ACEPIXS.COM . . . . . December 19, 2011...New York City....Jeremy Renner attends the 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' U.S. premiere at the Ziegfeld Theatre on December 19, 2011 in New York City....

Jeremy Renner will continue the Bourne franchise, as he will be introduced as Aaron Cross in The Bourne Legacy.

Renner’s character comes three films after Matt Damon’s character, Jason Bourne, from whom the films are named after. MTV reports that Renner’s character appears unaware and calls himself “Keith” in the credits. Perhaps he too has forgotten his identity, as Jason Bourne did. Also, he too will have to survive in order to clear his name.

Will this lead fans into feelings of unexpected surprise? A lingering quote will remind fans that “There was never just one.”

Joining Renner in the fourth installation are: Edward Norton, Rachel Weisz, Stacy Keach and Oscar Issac. Fans need not worry, as although Matt Damon’s character is gone, past-timers David Strathairn, Albert Finney, Scott Glenn and Joan Allen will also be returning to the film.

According to the AP, the new movie will filter in information from the past three films, which will help viewers understand what Renner’s character is going through. Aaron is described as the ultimate killing machine who can turn anything into a weapon, “including a loose nail and a fire extinguisher.”

Directed by Tony Gilroy, the film is set to for theaters August 3, 2012.
