Update: Jennifer Morrison Lands Role on 'How I Met Your Mother'

Former House star, Jennifer Morrison has officially snagged the role of Ted’s new love interest on ‘How I Met Your Mother’ according to Entertainment Weekly.

Morrison will be playing Zooey, who is being billed as “the biggest female character we’ve maybe ever added to the show in Ted’s life,” exec producer Craig Thomas told EW.com last month. “This is a big arc—a huge arc. It’s going to be a little less date-of-the-week for Ted, which season 5 was.”

Zooey and Ted will intially clash over saving an old New York hotel, which is being demolished in favor of the new Goliath National Bank tower that Ted designed.

“This is going to be a big saga for Ted. [It's] going to be a big overarching story that will take Ted on a journey that we’re really excited about,” says Executive Producer, Carter Bays.

Craig Thomas hasn’t said if Zooey is the legen(wait for it)dary mother but he does say that “back to the fact that Ted is the ‘I’ in How I Met Your Mother. There’s going to be a huge push forward for Ted on that search.”

‘How I Met Your Mother’ will premiere on Monday, September 20 at 8/7c and look for Morrison to pop up in the fifth episode.
