Usher to appear on stage in "Chicago"

R & B singer Usher is making the move to Broadway as he is set to appear in "Chicago," according to Reuters.

"Being on Broadway allows you to connect to audiences in a whole new way that's different from music and movies," Usher said in a statement and reported by Reuters.

Usher will play lawyer Billy Flynn, the same role actor Richard Gere played in the movie adaptation.

Usher joins a long list of celebrities who have appeared in various renditions of "Chicago," including George Hamilton, Brooke Shields and Billy Zane.
