Usher Easily Tops Week's Album Sales

Here I Stand dominated the week.

Usher's Here I Stand easily topped the music charts this week, but sold many more copies than was initially expected.

The R&B artist sold 443,000 copies of his record in its first week, which is the second highest total this year, coming just 20,000 short of Mariah Carey's E=MC2, according to Nielsen SoundScan data.

Even though this is the case, Here I Stand sold more than a half million less than Usher's last album, Confessions, which topped one million copies in its first week. Confessions eventually went on to be the highest-selling album for 2004 and the highest-selling album since Garth Brooks's release in 1991.

The first single from Here I Stand is "Love in This Club," which features Young Jeezy. It was No. 1 on the singles chart for three weeks prior to the release of the album.
