Velvet Revolver's Weiland in Hot Water
Scott Weiland pleads no contest to DUI charges
Scott Weiland, the former lead-singer of the Stone Temple Pilots and current frontman of the rock group Velvet Revolver has once again landed himself in hot water. After a career marred by drug and alcohol addiction as well as court-ordered rehab stints, Weiland seemed to finally have his life on track touring with his new band this summer.
However, on Friday the 36-year-old Weiland pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence. He is scheduled to be sentenced July 8. This charge should not interfere with his summer touring plans with Velvet Revolver in the United States and Europe. Velvet Revolver's first album debuted at number one on the Billboard charts last month.
