The punk princess of darkness, Avril Lavigne, and her Canadian punk in shining armor, Sum 41 front man Deryck Whibley are engaged. The 25-year old Whibley proposed to his fellow Canadian during the European leg of her tour over the weekend. Publicists for both singers confirmed their engagement to US Weekly. The duo, both coincidentally from the province of Ontario, have been dating for over a year but were friends long before hooking up. Although marriage may seem too premature for the 20-year old Lavigne, a girl who sings Complicated can hold down her own fort. In fact, she has already bought a home with her now-fiance in Los Angeles and their future marriage is sure to be a match made in punk heaven.
