Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson might be reuniting for a new film called Interns.
According to The Huffington Post, the Wedding Crashers duo has been anxious to do a new project together. After Wedding Crashers, they signed on in August of 2004 to star in a comedy, Outsourced. This film was meant to be about two recently downsized factory workers who travel to Mexico in order to get their old jobs back. This project never happened and Vaughn and Wilson left in 2007.
Five years later, a project called Interns has emerged, sounding very familiar to Outsourced.
The script comes from Vince Vaughn himself.
Vaughn and Wilson will be playing men in their forties who get laid off from their company when it downsizes. The two decide to resolve this problem by becoming interns at a Google-like dotcom to start over again, reports New York magazine's Vulture Blog.
There have also been mentions that this project sounds like another Vaughn comedy, Old School.
Interns is still just developing, as nothing is set in stone. Shawn Levy is looking to direct this film. He has previously worked with Vaughn as a producer on Neighborhood Watch, which is due out this summer. Levy became available to work on Interns after his planned adaption of Frankenstein fell to budget issues, along with another project he was set to star in with Jason Bateman.
If everything comes together, it will be likely that Will 'Frank the Tank' Ferrell will make a cameo appearance.
