Walken quits "Mother Courage"
Stepping in is Kevin Kline. Not too shabby either way.
Christopher Walken has pulled out of The Public Theater's production of "Mother Courage & Her Children."
The actor was slated to play The Cook opposite his "The Deer Hunter" co-star Meryl Streep, but had to quit due to scheduling conflict. Stepping in, however, is Kevin Kline, who co-starred with Streep in "Sophie's Choice."
The production of Bertolt Brecht's classic opens at the Delacorte Theater on Aug. 8. Theatre Hall of Fame member Kline is also slated to play the title role in "King Lear" for the Public Theater later this year.
