Warner Bros. Goes on "Vacation"
Warner Bros. is sending its "National Lampoon's Vacation" franchise to subsidiary New Line Cinema.
The franchise consists of four installments that focus on father Clark Griswold played by Chevy Chase and his family during various vacation trips. There was a spinoff about Randy Quaid's character Cousin Eddie taking a family vacation.
The newest movie will have Clark's son Rusty as the main character. Rusty will be a father and husband taking his family on a road trip of their own.
Throughout the series of films Rusty has been played by four different characters. Anthony Michael Hall was the first to play the son.
Characters will make references to the first movie, making it more of a sequel than a reboot.
"Vegas Vacation" was released in 1997 and was the last time the Griswold's were seen.
David Dobkin will possibly direct and produce the film.
