Was Suicide the Cause of Death for DJ AM?

On Friday, the world was completely shocked when the news of DJ AM's death hit the media. Now almost a week after his supposed overdose, it's looking like it may have been intentional and not accidental.

Just a day after his death, the autopsy that was performed was inconclusive. The cause of death was unknown and toxicology tests were needed. While suicide was never ruled out, the police found no foul play. So that really only left two causes of death: accidental or suicide.

A law enforcement source, who is investigating the case told People, that eight OxyContin pills were found in DJ AM's stomach undigested and another found in his mouth.

The suicide theory works out to be, DJ AM swallowed the 8 pills in order to kill himself and he was falling in and out of consciousness so he was unable to swallow the last. The source said, "He wanted to die." That makes sense considering there was a crack pipe nearby and he just recently broke up with his girlfriend of a year. The source went on to say, "He was going unconscious when he took the last one. He didn't even swallow it."

Another thing that adds fuel to the suicide theory was the fact that a card dated February 14, 2009 was found in the next room over. It read: "Thank God you're in my life. I love you." The card was from his ex, Haley Wood, with whom he recently split from. Also next to the card were photos of the couple.

"The card was lying on top of his laptop on the coffee table in the living room," the source says.

The source goes on to say that there were mirrors propped against the main entrance door his bedroom door. The source believes, AM "smoked a lot of crack, barricaded the doors and killed himself."

If that was not enough, apparently his BlackBerry was filled with concerned texts from friends. One read, "Some (expletive) just said you're dead. Better text me back."

Sources close to AM believe his death was accidental but for now, only time will tell.
