West to Appear on Leno After VMA Debacle
Kanye West, who famously ruined a special moment for Taylor Swift at last night's MTV Video Music Awards, will have the chance to redeem himself Monday night on Jay Leno's new prime-time NBC show.
West was not originally scheduled to speak with the famous talk-show host, but rather was scheduled to perform a song with Rihanna and Jay-Z. However, after last night's jaw-dropping incident, NBC made the decision to let West speak with Leno less than an hour before the show's taping.
Swift, who was on stage accepting the Best Female Video Award for her "You Belong With Me" video, had the microphone snatched away from her by West who went on to tell the audience and the millions of viewers that Beyonce had one of "the best videos of all time!"
Kanye West took to his website the morning after the incident to issue an apology to Swift, saying "I feel like Ben Stiller in "Meet the Parents" when he messed up everything and Robert De Niro asked him to leave... That was Taylor's moment and I had no right in any way to take it from her. I am truly sorry."
