What Did You Get For Beyonce's B-Day?
Popish hip-hop artist Beyonce Knowles will be releasing the second album of her post-Destiny's Child career on Septemer 5. The album, "B-Day," is also set to be released internationally one day earlier, which will coincide with the singer's 25th birthday. See, the title is both a statement of fact and a gimmicky marketing ploy. Those clever people!
This album follows in the wake of the success of her 2003 debut, "Dangerously In Love," which sold a reputed 4.3 million discs in the U.S. according to the folks at Nielsen SoundScan and earned 5 Grammy awards. The latest album was wrapped up as the singer was also finishing her work in the upcoming film, "Dreamgirls," a story kinda-sorta based on the real-life singing adventures of the Supremes. Meanwhile, Kelly Rowland, another former member of Destiny's Child was also working on her own album, "My Story: Kelly Rowland." It might be sort of successful as well, so you better remember to amazon it for later.
