Where's Lifetime?

The television channel is no longer available on the Dish network.

Leaving the step-brothers and their dad behind, mom and I traveled to her lake house for a girls' night in. We got comfortable, made popcorn and curled up in front of the television to watch a movie on Lifetime Television.

Well, guess what? We found out that Lifetime is no longer on the Dish network. The blank screen had white letters at the bottom that said Lifetime unfairly asked for an increase, which would have to come out of the viewers' pockets and the Dish wasn't having it.

According to the Dish network's parent EchoStar Communications Corporation, Lifetime had requested an "exorbitant" 76 percent rate increase and EchoStar said, "No way." Although Lifetime offered to extend existing services through the holidays, that was a no go for Dish. In response to EchoStar's claims, Lifetime spokesperson Gary Morgenstein stated, "While we don't negotiate in the media, their claim of an exorbitant demand is grossly exaggerated."

Who knows which party is to blame or when this thing will get worked out. All I know is, Lifetime Channel, which is jointly owned by The Walt Disney Company and The Hearst Corporation is MIA, and speaking for most of the women, "We want it back. Pronto!"
